CITY OF LOCUST PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT- PARK AND RECREATIONS MAINTENANCE WORKER Temporary Position: Starting Salary: Based on experience and qualifications. Duties: Under basic supervision, perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work. Work includes, but not limited to, all routine maintenance and repair within the park and recreations’ buildings and grounds division. This includes, but not limited to, all trash cleanup, cleaning of restrooms, landscape construction/maintenance, mowing/trimming, sidewalk/trail maintenance, irrigation maintenance, and all athletic field/court upkeep/setup. This position works independently, with occasional help from Public Works for specific projects. Employee will be required to use good judgment to prioritize tasks, to follow standard operating procedures and safety regulations. Qualifications: A valid NC Driver’s License and at least 6 months experience in buildings and grounds, turf grass management, athletic field/court maintenance or related field. CITY OF LOCUST PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT- PROGRAM COORDINATOR Part Time Position: Seeking a creative and energetic individual with extensive parks & recreation cultural and athletic programming experience. Under direct supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing recreation programs with outside contractors and community partners. This position will help with set-up, break down, and general execution of events and programs. Outstanding customer service, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills required. Must be tech savvy, a team player, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. Frequent weekend and evening work required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation or related field and experience in local government parks and recreation (includes an internship). Salary Range: $15-18/hour. This is a part time position not to exceed 30 hour/week. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
