Effective December 1, 2016, a convenience fee of 3.5% will be assessed for online credit card payments. To avoid the convenience fee, you may pay your utility bill in person at the City of Locust or by mail. If you have recently moved, you can also look into a vacant cost recovery service that may be able to help manage the utility bill for your previous home. If you feel like your utility bills are higher than you expected, you may want to look into other energy companies that can provide a better payment plan than your previous energy supplier. You will need to research and find out which would suit you best in your area first and take into account the people who live in your home, how many are there at any given time, and what appliances you regularly use on a day-to-day basis. For example, you may look into a Payless Power contract if you are looking to pay no deposit when you begin. Write down your needs and compare them to the energy plans that are available to you. Be aware of how much you are spending and see how much you can save, to make paying bills as easy as this.
