The City of Locust Public Works Department consists of 4 full time employees. They provide planning, inspections, maintenance, and repair services for multiple departments including Streets, Fleet, Solid Waste, Building and Grounds and Wastewater.
Services provided by the department include: street construction management and inspections, pavement management, installation and maintenance of all street blade signs (citywide), installation and maintenance of traffic control signs (city streets only), storm water control maintenance, winter weather removal, lawn maintenance along all street right of ways, fleet/equipment management and maintenance, sanitation and recycling management, lawn maintenance/landscape and building maintenance at the Government Center and Maintenance Facility, wastewater collection system maintenance and operations, and support of all city owned facilities.
Annual Bulk Goods Collection
The City of Locust will be conducting our Annual Bulk Goods Collection on Saturday, March 18th. All items must be at the roadside by 8am, Saturday morning to guarantee pickup.
Items that will be picked up include:
-Large Toys (kiddie pools, playhouses, riding toys, disassembled swing sets)
-Mattresses/Box springs (MUST be wrapped in plastic) and Bed Frames
Items that WON’T be picked up include:
-Construction and Demolition Debris
-Hazardous and/or Liquid Waste
-Computer/TV’s/Electronics of ANY kind
-Yard Waste (leaves, brush, or stumps)
