The City of Locust is proud to announce that the Grand Marshal for the 2024 Christmas Parade will be Councilmember Harry Fletcher, who is retiring after more than 20 years of dedicated service on the Locust City Council. Mr. Fletcher’s contributions to our community are countless, and it is only fitting that he be honored with this role as he steps into retirement.
Over the years, Mr. Fletcher has been a champion for the growth and betterment of Locust and Stanly County. He played an integral role in the foundation of the West Stanly Senior Center and was a steadfast advocate for the construction of a new senior center to better serve our community. Additionally, he was a key figure in the responsible and efficient implementation of the ABC store in Locust, contributing to the city’s success.
Beyond his work on the City Council, Mr. Fletcher served our country with pride in the United States Air Force. His unwavering commitment to service and community has left a lasting impact on Locust, and we are proud to recognize his efforts.
Mr. Fletcher will be joined by Mayor Steve Huber and Levi Farmer, a young, passionate Locust resident who continues to express interest in local government by attending City Council meetings with his family.
Join us in celebrating Mr. Fletcher’s distinguished career and dedication to our community as he leads the 2024 Locust Christmas Parade! We look forward to seeing you there!
